If you’re thinking about serving on the New Mark Commons Board of Directors, the current Board will offer insights and answer questions about what’s involved at 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6. Time has been set aside during the normal “community forum” period for this purpose.
Serving on the Board means you will help guide our 53-year-old community into the future and contribute to keeping New Mark Commons the special place it is.
The deadline for nominating yourself as a candidate is February 14. Here’s the link to the form on the website: 2020 Election Schedule and Candidate Statement of Intent.
Candidates will have a chance to present themselves to the community at the monthly Board meeting on March 5. Homeowners will vote on the candidates ahead of or during the March 9 annual meeting. Abaris management will mail out the candidates’ statements and ballots on February 18.
Unusually, six of the seven seats on the Board are up for election this year after three Board members resigned during the past year for personal reasons.
Three of those positions are for three-year terms. One position is for a two-year term. And two positions are for one-year terms.
In accordance with past practice, the top three vote-getters will be elected to full three-year terms, fourth place will serve a two-year term and fifth and sixth places will serve one-year terms.
