From the NMC Board of Directors:
The NMC pool management company – Pool Personnel – is still preparing to open the NMC Pool this summer whenever the authorities concur that it is safe to do so. There are unofficial indications that could come in mid to late June.
The white coat application is behind schedule because the company contracted in January has experienced staffing shortages due to COVID-19. Montgomery County will inspect the NMC pool upon completion of the NMC white coat. The new pool filtration system has already been installed.
NMC residents will not receive any refund for a shortened pool season. Any savings realized automatically become available towards other unexpected expenses that occur in the same fiscal year. Surplus funds at the end of a fiscal year go into to special fund that is dedicated to supporting future NMC needs.
Non-resident NMC pool members will most likely be issued some sort of refund depending on what happens with the 2020 pool season. The NMC board will have to determine a fair compensation after what is to be the pool season is determined.
NMC Swim Team possibilities and the traditional July 4th NMC Celebration at the pool are still to be determined. (The Montgomery County Swim League season has been cancelled.)
